inkl - the world's best news App Description

Welcome to inkl, the last news app you’ll ever need. See how we’ve changed the news in 199 countries. You may have heard that good journalism is dying. It’s not. But it IS moving away from being free. Meanwhile free news, especially on social media, is devolving into clickbait, fraud and celebrity drivel. It’s a waste of your time - and given how busy you are, that’s not ok! So, readers like you need a solution that unlocks access to the world’s best news sources so that you can stay informed - quickly, easily and cheaply. That’s what we do. inkl partners with the most reliable newsrooms on the planet. We work with publishers who have a strong record of self-correction, and who employ trained, conscientious journalists. The news you’ll see on inkl isn’t there because WE think it’s important. Or because it sells more ads. We show you the stories that the world’s best EDITORS consider newsworthy. That’s depth and experience that sets us apart from the riff-raff. We know that you have unread emails in your inbox, unused apps on your phone and a social media feed bursting with baby and celebrity news. It’s a fast-paced, fragmented, competitive and sometimes duplicitous news environment. That's why we made inkl. And here’s why we think this is the last news app you’ll ever download. NO ADS No one likes ads. So we tossed them out. NO PAYWALLS No one likes paywalls. So we’ve worked with publishers to remove them. DIVE DEEPER No one likes bias. So we show you multiple perspectives on each story. PLENTY OF PRIVACY No one likes stalkers. So no one else can see what you read. ZERO LOADING TIME No one likes waiting. So articles on inkl load in the blink of an eye. Seriously, try it out! TOPIC SEARCHES Everyone likes Elon Musk. So you can follow and track your favourite topics. STELLAR SERVICE Everyone likes to be treated well. So we treat you the way we like to be treated. READ OFFLINE Everyone needs a break. So you can read the news even in space. Or in your lead-lined toilet. Best of all you can try inkl completely free for a month. Just download the app and see if you like it. After your free trial you can choose a price and plan that suits you. If you don't choose a plan, you will still be able to view headlines and follow article links out to some available news sources after your trial ends. Monthly access to inkl costs 11 USD per month. Readers outside the US can also get bundled subscriptions for The Wall Street Journal and Barron’s for 18 USD per month. Or if you’d prefer to pay per article, you can visit the inkl website to find out more. Prices may vary locally according to differing regional pricing structures in the App Store. Payment will be charged to iTunes Account at confirmation of purchase. Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period. Account will be charged for renewal within 24-hours prior to the end of the current period, at the same cost as the initial purchase (i.e., 11 USD or 18 USD depending on the plan selected). Subscriptions may be managed by the user and auto-renewal may be turned off by going to the user’s Account Settings after purchase. Any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited when the user purchases a subscription to that publication. You can also follow us on Twitter @inkl or on Facebook to get a better mix of news from social media. • best new app i’ve seen in years

it’s fast, easily customizable, and does well with less mainstream topics that both google and apple heap google, oddly) don’t handle well. i looked up tibetan buddhism and not only got near instant articles and news on it, the keywords generated were very on point as well. the apps own picks and sources are many and good. my only request is to be able to add a couple of my choosing, but it’s a quibble. cross platform too. i will be using on both android and ios and will subscribe to show my support starting next month. bravo!

White text on black background. Couldn't read more than a couple of paragraphs in the first article. Had to stop because my eyes went.
  • Best news app, bar none

BTDT. Thoughtfully curated, artfully presented, nicely responsive. It is worth paying for quality, and either of the two subscription options should be adequate for most dedicated news readers.

This app has quality news but it's drawback is that if I were to share an article, the person on the other end would have to subscribe to Inkl. Also I am not given the option of opening an article in Safari. Therefore this app is good for private use but is found wanting in sharing information with others.
  • Cannot unsubscribe

You can buy an unlimited plan for $15 a month or $10 for 100 articles. It is IMPOSSIBLE to unsubscribe. It's not through Apple, you need to email INKL to unsubscribe and all the email addresses bounce. There is no setting in the app to unsubscribe. Also when on a free plan, most articles are free, a few are premium. Once you upgrade to 100 for $10 a month, you are charged for EVERY article. I got emails daily begging me to subscribe and now that I subscribed, all forms of contact have disappeared. Free is fine, do not upgrade.

Forget the free version. The good stuff is hidden behind a rather expensive subscription wall.
  • Doesn't do what it says it would

Still bombarded with ads and messages like "you have 5 free articles remaining" while on a premium subscription.
  • Great go to news app if you want various perspectives
